Dinsmor Delight—Madison, MS

As the designer of this project, I wanted to take advantage of all that the site had to offer and create a dynamic pool area to exceed the client’s expectations. With about 4′ of elevation change to work with, I created a multi-level pool area with a feature wall of fountains to achieve that high visual and auditory impact! With the pool raised on one side, it allows multiple people to enjoy the space without having chairs for everyone! People can also sit on the wall to enjoy the relaxing, cozy firepit which is great for chilly nights or just when you crave s’mores. There was an existing patio space to tie into which we did in a way that is indistinguishable and looks like it was always there. The open air pool building is located one end of the lap pool and a seating area on the other. The cabana is complete with t.v., wet bar and ample seating, and the whole space flows seamlessly with the pool and the pool deck. The building was designed to complement the character of the existing house which was brick that had been painted white. It has louvers on the sides to allow breezes to filter through it and a large fan to keep breezes moving. And, for added convenience, a private outdoor shower is tucked away in the corner of the yard.
