Creating a fireplace with pierced brick wing walls was a solution to provide them with a focal feature that was large enough to be in scale with the very large space and the ability to accommodate a large number of people. By replacing the porch posts with brick columns, adding Old Chicago brick on the porch as well as retractable shades, this house is perfect for entertaining regardless of the weather!
