This project faced several challenges–an existing pavilion which was required to be part of the new plan, slope issues of the property, nearby neighbors desiring privacy, a limited budget, and the additional challenge of creating a place all residents–young and old, single and families–could enjoy. The final resort-style pool more than surpassed these challenges, and it has become the focal point of the neighborhood, even attracting new residents because of its existence.
The winding 3,000 square foot saltwater pool offers different spaces for its myriad of users. There is a shallow children’s play area complete with geysers and a raised sunning terrace which allows for the chairs to be put in the water. For those desiring shade, a lovely pergola provides a more intimate place to gather. Relaxing waterfalls and fountains add an element of relaxation. Fencing and plantings were added to help provide privacy for the nearby neighbors, and the restroom facility uses elements of the existing pavilion to create cohesion among all the elements.
